Patch is the name of the game I’m working on at the moment. It’s about a little anomaly in a world where he doesn’t seemingly belong in.
He’s a creature with a CRT for a head, and a dynamic antenna (yes, dynamic) sticking on top. He doesn’t speak. He only expresses reactions through his CRT display. He may not talk, but the screen on his head expresses what he’s feeling.

I designed Patch to be a cute, silent protagonist in a noisy world where everyone is self important. They assign themselves more importance than they let on, or maybe they do live up to it. This is driven by many factors, be it arrogance, envy, insecurity, and the list goes on.
I haven’t thought of this world I’m building yet, but I also don’t plan on giving it much thought. One moment you’re in a scrapyard, the next– a mall (probably)
Patch travels through these worlds, just because he can. Because the only way forward, is by walking forward. He doesn’t ponder on things like where he is, or why he is.
He just is.
This world is protected by Guardians. These Guardians maintain the peace and quiet of the world, each assigned a designated role of importance. They see the unassuming Patch as a threat.
But this doesn’t matter to Patch. In fact, he’s extremely unimportant. He just does, and reacts. He’s not startled by their titles, or the immense powers they claim to have. He just knows that something is trying to kill him, and he must survive.
This is a story about Patch. A story that is shaped by the worlds he’s in, and by the characters he encounters.
I don’t think I want to give him a tragic backstory, or honorable cause.
